Fabteriors grew from an appreciation for the furniture that has long been part of Bengal's homes — furniture shaped by local materials, skilled hands and an appreciation for pieces that were made to last.
We wanted to bring that sensibility into contemporary homes: furniture rooted in craftsmanship, but designed for the way we live today.

Keeping the Craft Alive
As furniture becomes increasingly industrialised, some of the skills that once defined how things were made risk being lost.
Fabteriors was created to keep those skills in use — working with craftspeople who shape, carve and refine wood by hand using traditional tools such as the বাটালি (Batali).
The Batali is a simple tool, but in the hands of an experienced craftsperson it allows wood to be shaped with precision, patience and character.

Craft survives when there is a reason for the next generation to practise it.
By working with local craftspeople and keeping production close to home, Fabteriors aims to create meaningful livelihoods around skilled handwork — giving traditional techniques a place in today's furniture market.
