5-Year Warranty Policy
At Fabteriors, every piece of furniture is made with a focus on craftsmanship, material quality and longevity.
Our 5-Year Warranty Programme is designed to protect the original purchaser against eligible manufacturing and workmanship defects that materially affect the structural integrity or intended function of the furniture under normal residential use.
This warranty is a limited product warranty and is separate from Fabteriors' Buy-Back Programme and Care & Restoration Programme.
1. Warranty Period
Eligible Fabteriors furniture is covered under this limited warranty for 5 (five) years from the date of delivery to the original purchaser.
The warranty is applicable to the original purchaser and covers eligible manufacturing and workmanship defects arising during the warranty period.
2. What Is Covered
Subject to inspection and approval, the warranty may cover genuine manufacturing or workmanship defects affecting the structural integrity or intended function of the furniture.
Depending on the nature of the issue, Fabteriors may, at its discretion:
· Repair the affected furniture or component;
· Replace a defective component or part;
· Carry out necessary structural corrections; or
· Replace the product where repair is not reasonably feasible.
Fabteriors will determine the appropriate remedy after assessing the reported issue.
3. Structural & Workmanship Coverage
The warranty may cover, subject to inspection:
· Structural failure resulting from a manufacturing or workmanship defect;
· Failure of properly constructed joints under normal intended use;
· Manufacturing defects in structural wooden components; and
· Defects in workmanship that materially affect the intended function or structural integrity of the furniture.
Minor imperfections inherent to handcrafted furniture that do not affect functionality or structural integrity are not considered warranty defects.
4. Natural Wood & Handcrafted Characteristics
Fabteriors uses natural wood and handcrafted techniques.
Natural wood may naturally vary in:
· Grain;
· Colour;
· Tone;
· Texture;
· Knots;
· Markings; and
· Surface character.
Wood may also expand, contract or undergo minor seasonal movement in response to changes in temperature and humidity.
These characteristics are inherent to natural wood and handcrafted furniture and are not considered manufacturing defects.
Minor variations in colour, finish or appearance resulting from natural ageing, lighting conditions or the characteristics of the wood are also not covered under this warranty.
5. What Is Not Covered
The warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or defects resulting from:
· Normal wear and tear arising from everyday use;
· Scratches, dents, chips, stains or accidental damage;
· Spills, prolonged exposure to water or moisture;
· Excessive humidity, heat or direct sunlight;
· Improper cleaning, maintenance or use of unsuitable cleaning products;
· Damage caused by pets, children or accidents;
· Misuse or use for a purpose other than the furniture's intended purpose;
· Commercial, outdoor or other non-residential use unless specifically approved by Fabteriors;
· Moving, shifting, dismantling or reassembly by without proper care;
· Damage caused during relocation or transportation after delivery;
· Modifications, alterations or additions made without prior written approval from Fabteriors;
· Repairs or restoration carried out by third parties without Fabteriors' approval;
· Improper installation or assembly where installation was not carried out by Fabteriors or its authorised personnel;
· Termites, insects, fungus, mould or other biological causes;
· Natural changes in wood caused by environmental or seasonal conditions;
· Fading, ageing or deterioration of polish, lacquer, wax or other surface finishes through normal use;
· Cane, wicker, rattan or similar woven materials, including **cane sagging, stretching, loosening or natural settling**, unless specifically stated otherwise for the particular product;
· Upholstery, fabrics, leather, leatherette, glass, mirror and other consumable or replaceable surface materials, unless specifically stated otherwise for the particular product; or

6. Warranty Claim Process
To raise a warranty claim, the customer must contact Fabteriors with:
· Original order details or invoice;
· Clear photographs of the complete furniture;
· Detailed photographs showing the reported defect;
· A description of the issue and when it was first noticed; and
· Any additional information reasonably requested by Fabteriors.
Customers may be required to provide photographs or videos before any physical inspection or transportation is arranged.
Submission of a warranty claim does not automatically mean that the claim will be accepted.
Fabteriors will endeavour to respond to a warranty claim within 5–7 business days of receiving the required information and photographs/videos. This response period is for initial review or communication and is not a guaranteed date for inspection, repair, replacement or final resolution.
7. Inspection & Assessment
All warranty claims are subject to assessment and approval by Fabteriors.
Fabteriors may request additional photographs, videos or information and may arrange a physical inspection where necessary.
Fabteriors will determine whether the reported issue is attributable to a manufacturing or workmanship defect and whether it falls within the scope of this warranty.
Where the issue is found to be outside the scope of the warranty, any repair, restoration, transportation or related service may be offered separately at the customer's cost.
8. Repair, Replacement & Service
Where a warranty claim is approved, Fabteriors will determine the appropriate remedy based on the nature and extent of the verified defect.
Where possible, Fabteriors may repair the affected component rather than replace the entire product.
If an original component or material is no longer available, Fabteriors may use a reasonably comparable alternative.
Minor differences in colour, grain, finish or appearance following repair or replacement may occur because of the natural characteristics and ageing of wood and shall not, by themselves, constitute a new warranty defect.
9. Shipping & Transportation
Any shipping, transportation, collection, return or related logistics required in connection with a warranty assessment, repair or replacement will be borne by the customer, wherever applicable.
Fabteriors may communicate the applicable logistics requirements before the service is arranged.
Any costs arising from an issue that is found to be outside the scope of this warranty shall also be borne by the customer.
10. Customer Responsibility
The customer is responsible for using and maintaining the furniture in accordance with Fabteriors' recommended care instructions.
The customer must take reasonable precautions to protect the furniture from moisture, excessive heat, direct sunlight, spills, improper cleaning and other conditions that may cause damage.
Failure to follow reasonable care and maintenance instructions may affect warranty coverage where such failure has contributed to the reported issue.
11. Warranty & Care / Restoration
This warranty is separate from Fabteriors' Care & Restoration Programme.
The warranty covers eligible manufacturing and workmanship defects only.
Routine maintenance, polishing, refinishing, aesthetic improvements, repairs arising from use or accidental damage, and restoration services that are not caused by a covered manufacturing or workmanship defect are not included under this warranty.
Where a customer requires such services, they may be requested separately under the Care & Restoration Policy and will be chargeable as applicable.
12. Warranty & Buy-Back
The 5-Year Warranty Programme is completely separate from the Fabteriors Buy-Back Programme.
A warranty claim does not constitute a return, exchange or buy-back.
A warranty repair or replacement does not create, increase, reset or extend a customer's buy-back value or buy-back eligibility.
If the customer later chooses to participate in the Buy-Back Programme, the furniture will be assessed independently under the applicable Buy-Back Policy.
The maximum buy-back value of up to 50% in form of store credit is a separate commercial valuation and is not a warranty benefit.
Any restoration performed under warranty does not entitle the customer to a higher buy-back valuation.
13. Warranty Does Not Create a Return Right
This warranty does not provide a right to return furniture simply because the customer wishes to change, upgrade or replace the product.
Requests unrelated to an eligible manufacturing or workmanship defect will be governed by the applicable Fabteriors policies.
14. Unauthorised Repairs & Modifications
Unauthorised repairs, restoration, modifications, alterations or structural changes may affect warranty coverage where they have caused or contributed to the reported issue.
Customers should contact Fabteriors before arranging third-party repair or restoration for an issue that may fall under this warranty.
15. Non-Transferable Warranty
The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable to a subsequent owner unless Fabteriors expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
16. Final Assessment
Fabteriors reserves the right to make the final determination regarding whether a reported issue constitutes a manufacturing or workmanship defect covered under this warranty, subject to applicable law.
The warranty is intended to protect customers against genuine manufacturing and workmanship defects and is not intended to cover normal ageing, maintenance requirements, accidental damage, misuse or the natural characteristics of handcrafted solid wood furniture.
17. Changes to This Policy
Fabteriors may update this Warranty Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:
· Products or services;
· Warranty administration;
· Business operations; or
· Applicable law.
Any such changes will not affect an already-existing warranty claim except where permitted or required by applicable law.
